excercise music?

  • Okay.. here I am stealing .. hmmm.. I mean downloading music off the net and I'm looking for some good work out music. Any ideas?

All my music is mostly mellow - John Mayer, Billy Joel, Sting, James Taylor ... etc. ( I download butt loads of music!)

I do have some Shania Twain...

What do you listen to when you workout?

  • Unfortunately, I go to an aerobics class with people who are about 15-20, some even 30 years older than I am, so the instructor plays big band-type music often. She's really into Louis Armstrong. That kind of stinks.

I like to work out to rock music from the late 60s and early 70s because it has a good beat and I like the music. I really like the pounding music because it makes me want to really work.
  • No Doubt
    Simple Plan
    Mighty Mighty Bosstones
  • I really like the oldies, they seem to make you move even if you don't feel like it. The Temptations have some that really get you moving.

Don't you just love the things you can "borrow" from those file sharing sites?
  • OMG - having too much fun!

    I downloaded 15 songs tonight:

    here are some examples...

a beautiful life - ace of base - LOVING THIS SONG - this is a remix

    born to be alive

Kung Fu Fighting - Fatboy Slim

    Pump up the Jam

    Shake your groove thing

2 Sexy - right said Fred

raining men - the weather girls

I will survive - snuff (punk band - remake)

taking care of business - BTO

Come on Eilleen (80's song) - redone by no doubt (thanks pretty face!!)

also got ex girlfriend - no doubt

I could do this all night... but it's time for bed.

Thanks for the great ideas guys!

Elaine - the temptations will be tomorrow
maybe with a bit of Otis Redding

I now have 508 songs in my library.. my husband's is even worse!

They're good songs......
  • <groan> i'm so old and out of it!!!!!
  • This is the music I have on my mp3 player at the moment. I walk 2 miles 5 days a week. Usually takes anywhere between 43-50 minutes depending on how I feel. This is the order of play:

    'Video'- India Arie
'What it Feels Like For a Girl'- Madonna
    'Beautiful'- Christina Aguilara
'Better Be Good To Me'- Tina Turner
    'Ain't it Funny'- Jennifer Lopez
'Soak Up the Sun'- Sheryl Crow
    'She Bangs'- Ricky Martin
'I Drove All Night'- Cyndi Lauper (much better than Celine Dion's remake)
    'Die Another Day'- Madonna
    'Ray of Light'- Madonna
    'Beautiful Stranger'- Madonna
    'Don't Tell Me'- Madonna
'Have you met Miss Jones'- Robbie Williams (from Bridgit Jones's Diary)
    'Underneath it All'- No Doubt

I'm actually going to trim about 3 of the Madonna songs off- I find Im skipping a couple songs each time I walk, knowing I wont hear the whole thing.
  • Slimdown - Otis will be great, just don't go sittin on the dock of the bay with him!!!

not many people taste in music but really gets me pumped up and ready to burn some calories.
  • Techno or Dance type music. It has awesome beat and rhythm and gets you going. Some examples are....

    "Hey Mickey" by Tony Basil
"Get the Party Started" by P!NK
    "Move This" by Technotronic
    "Maximum Overdrive" by 2 unlimited
"We Like To Party" by Venga Boys
  • I love P!NK...her CDs really get me pumped up to work out! I also enjoy Aerosmith, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, and selected tracks from the various NOW That's What I Call Music collections. (Aren't these what all married, mother of two, thirty-something, elementary school teachers are listening to these days? LOL)

I really need something with a driving beat to keep me going. I like mellow tunes too, but not when I'm trying to work up a sweat.
