Your thoughts on a ketogenic diet.

  • I went on a ketogenic once losing 30 pounds in a month and a half. The ketogenic diet uses the process of ketosis which occurs when you eliminate sugar and carbohydrates from your diet and making the body burn fat for energy. I have been on the diet for about two months then school started and I left the diet. Currently ive been dieting and decided to read more about it. Turns out that it has multiple side effect especially for diabetics because it reduces the amount of insuline your body produces. Long term effects are reduction of growth hormone production, reduction of bone growth and reduction of bone density causing fractures.

    Has anyone tried it? Any thoughts?
  • I been on a ketogenic diet for years (with some periods where I have fallen off the wagon). I think it has done wonders for my health and I feel great on it.

    I just started a modified version of it, I just dropped anything to do with wheat, rice, starch, offcourse don't forget the common sense items like proccessed/junk/conventional sugar drinks. I still get the carbs from vegatables but I noticed a reduction in muscle fatigue.
