Down 35lbs and under 300!!

  • Wahoo!!!

I never want to see 300 again as long as I live! It was a scary and daunting thing to start losing from such a high start weight, but I'm doing it! I am so proud of 333lb Cory for having the guts to start on this journey.

    Thanks for letting me share!

I mainly did calorie counting (1200-1400 range), ate loads of veggies, no meat (we eat fish, but no meat), ate only whole grains, journaled every thing I ate and drank, and exercised. I had a goal of running a 5k, did the couch to 5k program, found I actually liked running, and now I'm training for a half marathon in November. My biggest obstacle, and one I have to be mindful of still (and most likely for the rest of my life), was emotional eating; one thing that really helped with that aspect of my eating behavior was reading Dr. Judith Beck's books (my user name is my nickname, not in any way related to the above).

You're doing a great thing, not only for yourself, but for your children. They will be so inspired by you and your efforts. Some of my most cherished moments on this journey was hearing my girls (twins, age 6) cheer me on, telling me how they want to be healthy like Ima, and having my older boys run with me.

Hope to see you around the forum!
