For the past 3 years I've known I had hypothyroidism but was unable to get a diagnosis. It runs in my family and I had every symptom. My doctor has tested me multiple times with a completely different TSH level every time. Finally, this last time he tested everything. Including my cholesterol, TSH, T3, T4, CBC, and Chem 7. Everything came back perfect except my TSH/T3/T4. I was starting to worry about diabetes due to my inability to lose weight, but thank god my fasting blood sugar was in the 80s. My TSH was 4.3, T3 2.5, and T4 1.0.
He decided to start my on 100mcg of Synthroid, so now I'm just wondering what I'm in for. Did everyone start to notice a drop in weight after the first few weeks? I've been doing 1200-1400 calories per day and working out 6 days per week. 4 days of cardio and 2 days of weight lifting. While doing this I've actually gained 20 lbs over the past 7 months. I'm just so excited to finally have this diagnosed and being fixed that I'm impatient for the weight loss to begin.
Also, I was reading that synthroid needs to be taken in the morning, but I was wondering how true this is. I normally take all of my pills at night (Yaz, Multi-Vitamin, and Flaxseed Oil) and I think it would be easier to take my Synthroid at night as well. But I don't want to mess anything up. Any advice on this?
Thank you in advance!
