  • I posted asking about tips for facial/skin care a couple of months ago and mainly asked for product suggestions, but I am really interested in what others do for a facial care routine on a daily/weekly basis.

I personally have combination oily/dry sensitive skin (although it leans towards the dryer side) and would love to hear from anyone with my skin type or others as I know there are many ladies out there who have different skin types. I'm all about trying to "preserve" and protect my skin as I am still fairly young and want to keep my skin looking the best it can!

My daily skin routine is as follows:

    Morning-
Wash my face with the The Body Shop's Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser (very good for sensitive skin)
    Apply Aloe Soothing Day Cream
*I would like to find a gentle SPF daily moisturizer if anyone could suggest one?

    Evening-
Wipe makeup off with Olay Mild makeup remover cloths
Wash face again with Aloe cleanser
    Apply Aloe Night Cream

About 3 times a week I use the Aveeno Naturals microscrub to gently exfoliate and I use the LUSH Oatifix mask 1 time a week to tame any redness that might surface throughout the week.

I am still not 100% happy with my skin and I am always looking for new products so I'd love it if you shared what your skin care routine is. Thanks!
  • I wash with whatever facewash I happen to have bought previously. I haven't found one I'd pick over whichever is on sale, so I just go with that. Right now I have a citrus based one, clean and clear I think.
Sometimes I use a toner if my pores look really big, again no particular brand, I think I have a sample of lancome or estee lauder that I'm using now.
For lotion/cream I've been using ponds dry skin cream, and it is wonderful. I only need a tiny bit, and it feels so nice.
  • I have 2 lines that I switch up

Philosophy - wash with Purity, Use Hope in a Jar, then a sunscreen, I like Devita. In the evening I use Purity, Help Me (retinol product), When Hope is NOt Enough cream. I only exfoliate 1-2 times a week, have sensitive skin.

Mychelle - this is an organic, all natural, no paraben, pthalates, etc. company

    Hondew or Pumpkin cleanser
    Fruit enzyme spray
    Night repair cream

I love the masks in this line too. go on line at Mychelle.com and read the different product. You can buy the line at Whole Foods & Wegmans

The Philosophy line you can get at Sephora & QVC and well as on line. Good Luck. I will be 55 in January and Nobody believe that I am anywhere near that age. Good Genes helps but Sunscreen is my best friend
  • I have oily combo skin.

Morning: I wash with Philosophy Purity with my Clarisonic. I then apply an Oil of Olay moisterizer (any type.) Then a tinted moisterizer with SPF.

Night: I wipe down with a Yes to Cucumbers wipe.
  • I'm an Olay girl and have been for many years. I think its working as I just turned 51 and often get mistaken for being in my 30's
    Here's my daily routine:

Morning: Wash with Olay Regenerist Cream Cleanser
Moisturize with Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum
Apply Olay Regenerist Daily Defense UV Lotion SPF 15

Night: Remove makeup with Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths
Moisturize with Olay Regenerist Night Cream
  • Here's my skin care routine:

    Morning:
    -Shower
-Apply skin firming lotion all over up to my neck.
-Apply bio-oil on my tummy for my stretchymarks
    -Wash face with SpectroJel
-Apply Garnier morning moisturizer with SPF 15

    Evening:
-Apply skin firming lotion all over up to my neck
-Bio oil on the tummy again
    -Wash face with spectroJel
    -Garnier nighttime moisturizer
-Also a under-eye cream for dark circles

When I turned 25 my mom told me "it doesn't get any better you know?"

    That kinda scared me lol
  • I'm a Clinque gal. I use their three step cleanser, astringent, and moisturizer.
  • i dont wear make up...ever ever ever...and i think that goes a long ways towards helping my skin...i have no skin care routine...i wash with hot water, i eat good foods, i exercise...and my skin seems to be just fine
  • Quote: i dont wear make up...ever ever ever
This got me to thinking, I forgot to mention I use Smoky Mountain Minerals, which I've been using for 6+ years. Its all natural, gluten free, talc free, organic and contains a natural suncreen. My skin has greatly improved using this makeup.
I also drink a lot of water and eat low carb (no grains or sugar), which also has done wonders for my skin
  • I just started doing a facial routine in the past few months. All I do is use an exfoliating scrub (st. ives, I think...) and then I use miracle in a jar because i have super dry skin... its an incredible product.
  • Thanks to everyone who shared! I need to try this Miracle in Jar stuff. I've heard it's really good... it's a bit expensive for my taste, but if it works I'm all for that.

I don't wear a lot of makeup at all... it's usually just eyeliner and some Burt's Bees tinted chapstick.

I think those of you who said eating right is helping your skin are right. If I go for a couple weeks eating really clean and then I eat something fried or greasy, my skin HATES it.

Also the GNC Hair, Skin, and Nails vitamins combined with a fish oil supplement have made a noticeable difference in my skin and hair as well. If anyone else has any particular foods or supplements that have helped their skin or hair I'd love to hear!
  • I wake up in the morning, and every other day during my shower I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub.
My skin is super sensitive, so if I put it on every day my skin get's overwhelmed and dried out.

Every other day works PERFECTLY for me! (:
  • I just use plain old Cetaphil (for combination/oily skin in the summer, dry in the winter) morning and night and moisturize with the Olay all day UV protection lotion with SPF15 in the morning. Haven't found a good moisturizer for the winter, though, as the Olay one I currently use probably won't keep my skin from flaking in the colder months.

I used to use the Clean and Clear dual action moisturizer when my skin broke out more often, but now I find it dries out my skin and makes it red and blotchy.. so I separated my moisturizer from any spot treatments I use

PS: I agree, drinking water has improved my skin a LOT. I don't even wear foundation anymore because I really don't need it
  • I am a Mary Kay lady all the way!! I was converted about 7 years ago. I started with the TimeWise skin care and noticed an immediate difference.

    Morning routine:
*wash with TimeWise 3-in-1 cleanser for Oily/Combination skin
*apply TimeWise Day Solution with SPF 35
    *apply TimeWise Age-Fighting Moisturizer

    Evening:
*wash with TimeWise 3-in-1 cleanser for Oily/Combination skin
    *apply TimeWise Night Solution
    *apply TimeWise Age-Fighting Moisturizer
  • i have combination skin.

go to bed in last night's makeup, remove before going to the studio.

no product. sometimes a little night cream (about once a week).

the more ya' sweat, the oils in your sweat will act as lotion on your whole body. i don't even use body lotion and get "skin softness" comments constantly.
