What do you use as your closing creed??

  • I am interested in knowing what other chapters use as a closing creed. This is the one we now use but I am thinking about seeing if chapter would be interested in changing it to the one about "Take My Hand"

    Closing Creed

I pledge that I will try this week
To keep in mind the goal I seek
To get some exercise each day
    By walking,jogging-anyway
To eat to live, not live to eat
I’ll reach my goal without defeat
So by this creed I’ll live each day
And I’ll weigh less each time I weigh.

This is one I would like to change to

YOU TAKE MY HAND AND I'LL TAKE YOURS
    AND WE'LL START OUT TODAY
FOR A HELPING HAND IS WHAT WE NEED
TO START US ON OUR WAY
THE WAY TO GOAL IS A LONELY ROAD
    YOU NEED SOMEONE TO CARE
REACH OUT MY FRIEND AND TAKE MY HAND
AND THEN WE ARE ALMOST THERE

Or maybe combine them. But regardless. What do you use?????
  • Good morning
our club as of yet doesn't do one, but tonight will be the first one. I like the idea instead of just getting up and walking out. We use to close with a song. I like this idea. I'm thinking for the ladies in our club the first one. Or may go back and forth with it.
  • Eleni,

The chapter I was in always closes with the Helping Hands Creed

I give to you a helping hand to steady you when you fall
To lift you up when you are down to encourage you when you stall
I can not do it all for you, only you can lose that weight
But I'll be there if you need me before it is too late.
And when at last you reached your goal and become an honored
    Kops
I be there to applaud for you and give the credit to TOPS

Does this help you? I like the second one that you posted myself as well as this one.

Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling too good yourself. And sorry I missed your call the other day. I must have been out in the garage. But my ears are so plugged that I am having a hard time hearing anyway. Never heard the phone ring this morning and megan came in and said mom phone. She had answered it.
We are home today. Megan still had a fever at 3am this morning. No fever so far today which is good. Hopfully she is over the virus she had. She acts a lot better to. I think it did her good to have me home with her today as a special day. But there is so much at work I could be doing. Oh well she has to come first. I have to miss work on wed also this week. I have to take her to kindergarten to meet half of her class and ride the bus the whole nine yards. She is excited. Plus I am going to stop by her old school before we go to kindergarten so she can see her old friends. One of the kids from her old school is scheduled to go the same day we are going. We were supposed to go tomorrow but I am seeing if we can do it wed instead. They are having it both days.
I still have no appetite which is a good thing. Went to the Dr yesterday and got stuff for a sinus infection finally. Hopefully the ears will unplug soon. I can't stand this feeling. No ear infection just fluid built up.
Well I am gone for now. I will check back later and see how everyone is doing.

    Coco,

Did you have a good time watching the race at your friends house? We watched it here. Did you figure out where to put your house for your cross stitch? Let me know how it comes out. Glad to see you are doing something that you like for you.

  • Eleni, I like the second one since TOPS theme this year is 'Hand in Hand'. I would go with that one. Is that the one that came out of the Program book we got right after the New Year started?

Hope you're feeling better and have a GREAT time at SRD. Drive safe when you go.

{{{HUGS}}} to everyone here on the board.
  • Eleni...We use the one "You take my hand" which was in the program that introduced this year's theme. Our ladies actually take each other's hand when we do this, and there is usually a friendly little squeeze at the end. I like the first one too...I haven't heard that one, or Sherri's either. Before changing to the hands, we used the "Don't Quit". It is nice to have a closing verse...tells everyone when you are really finished.

Everyone, have a good "on program" day. I am trying the "contract" that Oprah introduced on her program one day. I have managed not to eat after supper all this week, and have been keeping a food diary. I wanted to start exercising too, but that has not worked out this week.
  • I like the second one also. We do not use a closing creed. We tried them a few times but it didn't work out for us. We draw a chip at the closing of our meeting and everyone was used to that.
    Have a good day, everyone.
