Soy Cheese & Tomato Paste

  • Kind of feel stupid for asking but are we allowed to have any in Phase 1? Or this more something you can have on Phase 3-4? And what about veggie meats?
  • My coach said no to the veggie shreds cheese. I did use a little bit of it once to make a portabella mushroom pizza which was OH SO yummy. But since she said no, I have not used it again. Not sure on the tomato paste. I would tend to say no, if it's not 0/0/0. I would just smash up some real tomatoes.
  • Every coach is different, I can have the veggie cheese slices or shreds. As long as it is 0/0/0 then you can have it
  • I've used tomato paste in lieu of tomatos before - BUT - it's a tiny amount of paste (~1.2oz) that is equivalent to 1 cup chopped tomato, so next time I think I will just chop & drain when I feel that tomato need. Remember tomatoes are a 'Occasional' veggie at only 2x/week.

Does the veggie cheese count as a vegetable serving? Or is it just one of the foods you should use in moderation like egg whites?
