Did it guys, 3 miles uphill!

  • Well I said I would do it and I did. I feel really great about it too. I waited a few days, because I didn't want to do it for the first time alone. It's all back roads and since they're doing construction in town, there's a lot of traffic, so my brother went with me. I definitely needed him. After the first hill, I wanted to quit, but he helped me through it. The second and biggest/steepest hill was KILLER. I literally wanted to die, I remember saying, "Screw this, let's go back, I can deal with being fat, but I can't do this." I was so tired and out of it that I really thought I was going to fall and roll down the hill all the way home, lol. So, I'm glad I waited for him. I'm definitely not going to be able to do it alone for a while, but he's promised to do it with me and he's already ready to go for tomorrow. My body doesn't feel that bad either, just a little sore. It was worse while I was doing it. I'm dreading it tomorrow, but I'm going to try. That's all I can do. I still can't believe I did it. I kept telling myself, this wasn't me, I wouldn't have ever done this. I'm married to the couch, no way in **** that was me that just did that. But I did!
  • Great job! I live in a hilly area and just HATE thinking about walking up the hills. I feel so much better when I think about going back down, so I plug along, and always feel wonderful when I complete the walk......keep going!

  • Awesome!! it's great that you have the support of your brother. If you do it again tomorrow, you will believe that was you. You are going to suprise yourself with what you will accomplish! I love to read these joyous posts. They give us all a lift. Keep it up. Be sure to stay hydrated, it's been hot here in the Northeast..

  • Hill Walking and Stair Climbing

Although running up hills will burn more calories than walking, if you are unable to run, you can still get the toning benefits from walking uphill. Hiking is the best method, because it involves a longer hill, but if there are no mountains available, you can do a series of repetitions on shorter hills.
