Concerned I might be pregnant with IUD

  • My cycles have been really irregular since having my (now one year old) son, ranging from 20 days to 35 days long. I have the non-hormonal IUD so it should not be affecting my cycle length. I am on cycle day 38 today, with no sign of TOM. I don't want to be a drama queen and worry my husband, but I am becoming concerned. How much longer would you wait before taking a pregnancy test?
  • Hey! I have a non hormonal IUD too and sometimes I'm really all over the place. I was always kind of irregular but I used to have a much shorter cycle (often 17 days) but now sometimes it's 30+. If you've gone up to 35 days before a few more isn't much longer but I'd say if you can get an early response (can't remember the name) to get one ASAP. To calm your nerves and to make sure everything's ok

Also weight loss can mess with your periods and I think this is a common issue.

    Good luck!
  • I'd go ahead and test. It'll either calm your mind, or you'll know what you have to deal with.
  • You definitely want to test sooner than later so the IUD can be removed if you are, in fact, pregnant. And if your period continues to be absent or wonky with a negative test it is probably time to call your gynecologist
  • I've had Paraguard a few years now without incident (!!*knock on wood*!!) but TOM still comes every 28-30 days. If it's been 38 days, time to take a test...please let us know because I worry everytime I hear a possible pregnancy scare with IUD. Good luck...
  • I would have been peeing on sticks since day 35. Test & let us know. xoxo
  • Took a pregnancy test, I am not pregnant. I wonder if dieting is making my cycle weird.

I am pumped that I don't have to stop trying to lose weight - I really, really want to start my next pregnancy at a healthy weight.
