I have an older slicer that I have been using to slice my vegi's, but I have cut my fingers now a few times and my family members are threatening me they are going to put it in the dumpster so they don't get excess skin in their food, lol. So, I need suggestions on what your favorite device may be. Anyone have the new "Salad Chef"? Before I invest $ into something that is safer and does a nice fast job I would love to get some feed back.

I have a mandoline, I dont remember the brand but the box has japanese writing on it.. Have had it 15 yrs and still works..

I have a pampered chef mandoline, but I usually just slice everything by hand or use a Cuisinart.
