I was told that eating late does a huge toll on losing weight. I normally can't fall asleep until 4am so if my last meal is at 7:30 or before I get hungry.
Is it bad to eat something light or as healthy as possible at night? I just ate sugar free pudding as a snack to fight the hunger.
I am in the same boat as you - my nights don't end till the crack of dawn. I recently asked a personal trainer the same question and was told that it isn't a magic time issue, but an activity issue. If a person goes to bed at a "normal" 10 or 11 pm, then they wouldn't want to eat much past 7 or 8 because the food wouldn't have the oppertunity to be 'burned' off by activity ( because the person would be sleeping). His point was you have to adjust your eating schedule to your own personal time frame. It's why I've been trying to do the calorie counting route - I give myself an allotment per 24 hour period and go from there.
For lower calorie snacks I like air popped popcorn with spray olive oil and seasoning or if I'm super hungry a Laughing Cow cheese.
