The curse of finding your old size...

  • Has anyone had this? I swear it's been happening to me a lot.

I walk into a store and find a million things in size 12 and 14 and very little in my new size. When I WAS a 12/14 that size was nowhere to be found!

Now the clothing racks are full of XLs and I cannot find S and XS for the life of me!

Oh and a new Torrid (my old favorite clothing store) just opened up at the shopping center near the school where I teach. Where were you when I was a 12 and had to trek a half hour away to the tiny store in the boring mall, Torrid??

The mall 10 minutes from my house also had a bunch of plus size stores open up that cater to younger women. They have Torrid-like clothes for cheap... AGH!
  • I keep spying (well, I did, not now that it's summer clothes) sweaters in the women's section I loved, but then would see it was 1x or 2x. So odd!!!

Then, recently, when I went to a consignment shop near us, the owner had a bucketload of size 14 Talbots dresses. Where were they last year when I was down to a 14?

I'm not complaining though - at an 8/10 pants, M/L tops I can find nearly everything.
  • Maybe has somewhat to do with different styles flattering different sizes. The types of styles that were flattering when you were bigger would have been all smalls left and nothing in your size. Now that your smaller, you find the items that flatter your current size are all sold out in the smalls but plenty left in large.
