Scale Advice Needed

  • My scale and I are not getting along. I am getting as much as a two pound difference from stepping on and off and back on again. I am getting everything between that two pound difference as well. I probably stepped on and off 20 times this morning and probably got 10 different readings. I hadn't had this problem in the past. What type of scale do you use?
  • I can imagine that's frustrating!

When I started losing weight I picked up a Weight Watchers digital scale. Never had any problems with it!

a balance scale is more accurate than a spring scale
  • maybe it needs a new battery? or to hit the reset button? or dust the bottom of it?
  • i use an EatSmart scale. mine is consistent 99% of the time (a couple of times there will be 0.2 difference, but doesn't happen very often)
  • I just use a regular spring scale and try not to get too caught up in measurement variance. It will drive you insane.
  • make sure you're on a flat surface, that can make a difference.

yup. Spring scales suck because you can ruin the spring and then everythings off.
  • I have a Health-O-Meter and I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!! I step on it 3 times during weighing and it gives me the exact same reading every time.
