Strawberry Laughing Cow

  • I got some of this at the grocery store the other day. It's like strawberry cream cheese. It is WONDERFUL! Super creamy and delicious, and it's the perfect size. They're 45 cal/wedge. I've been putting them on bagel thins (really good on the blueberry/cinnamon raisin)but what are some other ideas for using them?
  • I have a Hungry Girl French Toast recipe that uses it. I can't find the link anymore, but I have an Adobe file I can e-mail you if you like just PM me your e-mail address. I started to type it out here, but it was taking too long
  • I like the strawberry laughing cow on the Quaker Rice cake minis. They make a pomegranate flavor that goes really well with the strawberry. NomNom!
  • Hmm... I've never used the Laughing Cow cheese... I guess I just never thought to! I will have to give it a go... especially on a toasted bagel... and especially the herb one! YUM.
  • I LOVE the cinnamon Cream cheese wedges. Delicious!
  • i didn't know they made flavors like that! I've only seen the savory flavors. MMMMM i'm going to get some!
  • In our local grocery store, the sweet flavors are back with the regular cream cheese. The savory flavors are up front in the deli if that helps.
  • I bought the strawberry and cinnamon ones - the tip about the stuffed french toast sparked my interest in trying these since I used to like the stuffed french toast from IHOP (before I found out it has like 1000 calories for the small piece!).

this morning I made french toast with my cinnamon raisin Ezekiel bread and egg whites mixed with vanilla and cinnamon and used the strawberry laughing cow in the middle. it came out delicious- almost didn't taste like a healthy diet food; I didn't even use any syrup (will have to get a good maple syrup next time though). tomorrow I'm trying the cinnamon one
  • Oh you know what's wonderful with those (and similar in concept to the stuffed french toast)? I sautee some green apple chunks with a little splenda (sometimes I use a tsp of real sugar) a little water, and a lot of cinnamon until apples are soft and there's a sticky "sauce" going on (you could probably also do this in microwave). Then toast an english muffin, spread with the cinnamon laughing cow, and top that with the apple mixture. Delicious!
  • Love the strawberry. I just got some yesterday for the first time. I ate it on a 100 calorie multi grain English muffin. Yummy and filling for 145 calories.

Is the recipe sort of similar to this??

That sounds really good. I normally just use fruit preserves but never thought to add anything like cream cheese/laughing cow cheese.

ETA: I found the recipe using strawberries & cream LC spread here. Definitely trying it!
  • Yes, that's the one!
  • Ooo! I will have to find this! I love cream cheese, but need something healthier.

When you said strawberry Laughing Cow, it made me think of Skinny Cow Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream http://www.skinnycow.com/products/detail.aspx?id=3. It comes in the perfect serving size and is only 150 calories! YUM!

If you compare, 1/3 less strawberry cream cheese is only about a .04 difference in calories per gram:
70 cals per 32g Philadelphia light strawberry cream cheese
45 cals per 21g Laughing cow strawberries and cream

I go with cream cheese because it's cheaper
