Yeah, so I've lost 39 lb. Big whoop! - I STILL have trouble finding JEANS that fit my funky shape!!!!!

I'm basically a "size 11" - that is, a bit too small for size 12, and a bit too chunky for size 10. Add to that the fact that I am very hour-glass shaped, meaning jeans that fit me well in the rear usually gap at the waist, or jeans that fit very nice in the waist, I would never know because I can't get'm over my buttocks!!!! ARGH!

Jeans that fit me the best (that I'm willing to actually PAY for!) are the Lee Rider "Shape System Curvier" jeans. WalMart sells the Lees for about $20-$25. I've heard a lot of good things about NYDJ, but those are $80+ and no way am I spending that for ONE PAIR of pants!!!

I also like the Levi's "Curve ID" but they're hard to find in my size.

Have you tried american eagle jeans? I look for the ones with a little stretch and they're comfy.

Ok, im not one for symantecs, but a size 11 is a juniors size, (odd numbers) and they are going to fit COMPLETELY different than a womans size/pair of jeans.. tinier waists, smaller (firmer?) rear, shorter rises, etc.... Just saying, they arent designed to fit a "womans" body

you are stuck between 10 and 12? why not go 12 petite? you are short (not as an offense, i usually wear petite) and pertite sizes are not only shorter in the leg a little, but they are also generally a little smaller everywhere than the normal of its size. So a size 12 petite will fit a little tighter than a normal size 12, but prob a little looser than a normal size 10....
i understand about wanting to be in the "smaller" size, but its ALL ABOUT fit, kwim?

For Clarification:

I do wear a "petite" cause yeah, I'm short. But when I say "size 11" - what I mean is that I am BETWEEN sizes. Between a 10 & 12 right now; like I said, too little for 12, too big for 10, hence, 11. I don't shop in the junior section, waaaaayyyyy too "womanly" for that!

Eddie Bauer has a really curvy fit. They're usually expensive but they often have sales and I can usually find jeans that fit there at a price that I can handle.

Have you tried jeans with a little stretch to them? Skinny jeans and that sort of thing? They'll fit your curves and will take care of your inbetween size problem

I have the same issue...and I buy the $85 pair. With alterations (because petites are still not short enough) my last pair of jeans was $100. And I noticed there is a little bit of gap!! Whatever. I did my best. I found them at Coldwater Creek.

I have generally bought them to fit in the hips and had the waist taken in but if you do that you have to factor in the cost if you don't do it yourself. It costs me $14 for the hem and I think $14 for two darts. So the alterations are $30 plus the darts in the back sometimes scratch and get very aggravating. You may not have that issue though. You may also just do it yourself.

I agree, you should get jeans that fit your hips and have them altered to fit your waist as well, or wear a belt to get rid of the gap. I usually wear jeggings, they're elastic so that solves any issues when it comes to my body shape: they stretch where they have to stretch and still look like proper pants.

I'm really curvy and petite, so I have the same problem with jeans gaping at the waist when they fit in the hips/butt.

I really like the Express Editor pants in denim and so does my 55+ year old mom. Damn, I checked the website and they apparently don't sell them right now! They're typically around $60, but they have good sales.

I just bought a pair from Macy's that I loved (Inc International), but they were $70. Ann Taylor Loft has awesome jeans for $50-70, and they usually have sales for 40% off!

But WOW... I would NEVER spend over $40 for a pair of jeans. Even $40 is past my budget!

Guess for the amount I'm willing to spend ($20-$30) my choices are slim ... Heh, "slim" Might as well stick with the Lee Riders and the Levi's Curve IDs.

I'll spend a lot on jeans, any pants, and work attire. I generally wear dresses on a daily basis and they're pretty inexpensive, jersey, etc. My jeans are usually reserved for going out with friends.

I have had luck at Buckle (even though it's a younger store) getting a brand called "One Community." I bought one pair for less than $30 at Marshalls then found them online and got another pair for maybe $20 on some crazy sale.

Tried Old Navy? I'm pretty hourglassy (currently 24" waist / 37" hips), and I have big thighs for my frame. Their Flirt style worked well for me until I got pretty small; since then, their Sweetheart jeans have done better for me. Old Navy jeans are as close as I've ever gotten to not having the "gap" issue.

They're normally $30, but I wait until they have $15 sales and buy them then. Always try them on, though; I find that their sizing can be really inconsistent from pair to pair.

I'm not a petite, though, so YMMV.

I cannot wear Old Navy's jeans. Not even close. The gap is HUGE whenever I try their jeans. The shape is so not even close to mine they can't even be altered. I bought a kid's dress there recently but that's about all I've ever been able to find.

Jeans are quite a trial. You have to try on a million pairs to find ones that are decent.

I have a flat butt so I don't exactly have the problem, but even then I'll try on jeans where there is a small gap in the back and still somehow tight on my stomach. I don't even know how that is possible.

I did find some cute jeans at Maurices that were about $30 on sale. I bought two pair and figured that is enough to keep me from having to shop for jeans for a long time.
