Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting on this forum. I've tried countless general Google searches with no luck, so I thought I'd give this a shot.*
I am an INCREDIBLY picky eater. And, of course, it's always healthy stuff that I can't stand. For instance, I absolutely hate fruit. I can't stand to even be near it. The sight, smell, and texture are all nauseating. It's like nails on a chalkboard. I've tried to force myself past it, but I just can't. I do like some vegetables (namely peas, green beans, carrots, and corn) but can't eat anything like that raw. I don't like *salad. I also can't stand the texture and look of wheat products, so that takes out the healthy versions of all of my favorite carbs.*
Lately, in my attempts to lose weight with my incredibly restricted menu, I'm just looking for low calorie foods. I generally eat a lot of chicken (grilled, baked, and lunch meat - I also like pork an turkey but haven't learned to cook it yet), pretzels, microwave popcorn (no butter), crackers, cereal (small bowls of fruit loops or rice crispies generally) and canned soups (only tomato and chicken noodle).*
Foods I absolutely love but *trying so hard to cut back on: red meat, cheese, potatoes, noodles, rice, bread, pizza, fried chicken, chocolate, and soda pop. I've been thoroughly addicted to pop but have been successfully cutting back. I've tried cutting it out completely before and I end up binging.*
I'm also allowing myself occasional days of fewer restrictions because I know myself: if I completely avoid the foods I love, I'll snap after a couple weeks. I also become incredibly difficult to live with.
I'm going crazy from lack of good food and a variety of it. Does anyone have any suggestions for snacks and meals for someone with the palette of an incredibly picky toddler? Because that's about where I'm at!
I know the answer is that I need to learn to eat healthier foods. But I've been down that road a a million times before. If I rely on changing my tastes and idiosyncrasies to lose weight, I absolutely never will.*
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!*
