Looking for a way to spice up Turkey Burgers.

  • Any clue? Im using 99% turkey breast ground and its very bland. I tried rehydrating minced onions in Wor. sauce, but still pretty bland. I also want to keep the salt down.

    thanks.
  • My go to spices for ground meat are garlic and onion powder. I'll occasionally use thyme, pepper, and basil and oregano.
  • Hello I just had to jump on this, try Montreal steak seasoning It will taste great I use it on everything chicken fish etc
  • also there are a lot of mrs dash seasonings. they have no sodium in them and can spice up anything.
  • try putting a small amount of lipton onion soup mix, or a small amount of hidden valley ranch seasoning. thats what i usually do, or just slice some jalepenos, mushrooms and a thin slice of swiss with a whole wheat pita bun. mmmm
  • I use Coleman's hot mustard
  • Curry powder or cumin and garlic powder or really great toppings (small amount of blue cheese, slice of avocado, cucumbers, hot peppers, arugula, red onions, sprouts etc. take your pick.
  • We like to cut up onions & garlic, and saute them until soft then add some fresh raw spinach until wilted. In a bowl, Mix all together with turkey and add some feta crumbles, then make your patties. we usually mix in some montreal as well. They are delicious!! Just had them last night as a matter of fact!
  • I would add finely diced garlic, carrots, onions and bell peppers to the ground meat then season with Tabasco, and Worcestershire
  • I always make them with zucchini (my meatballs too) like this:

    Turkey Burgers with Zucchini

They're fantastic - always a huge hit with my friends when we BBQ.
  • my husband just made turkey burgers last night and added a teaspoon of Petak medium madras paste. It was spicy and absolutely yummy!
  • Tomato sauce, about a tablespoon per burger. I need less spice that way.

My surprise kicker is fruit. My favorite 2 are diced apples and crushed pineapple. Both grill with a fantastic flavor.
  • I grate a small onion and a small apple into the meat for moistness, then season with Montreal steak seasoning and poultry seasoning. I like sharp cheddar on top, and cranberry sauce mixed with mayo as my condiment. Yummy!
