Please remind me that its NOT possible to gain 5lbs over the weekend, right?

  • Yeah, Easter weekend. BLECH. I ate waaaaay too much of that "stuff" thats not good for me....and then I insisted upon stepping on the scale this morning.
  • Drink your water, get back on track, exercise. A lot of the water weight will come off and your weight will stabilize. You might've gained a little but unlikely 5lbs worth.
  • Repeat after me:
water weight, water weight, water weight. FIVE POUNDS? Oh yeah, water weight. Unless you really ate above & beyond 17,500 calories - yup, water weight.

So .... rest easy. It'll come off soon.
  • I refuse to get on the scale this morning. I had two days off plan and boy am i paying the price!

Not even thinking about the scale...I had to get out of bed and go to the store and buy Gas-X, I am hurting so bad.

    Never again. Owwwwwww!

I'll be with you OP - I'm longing to get rid of this gross feeling. Lots of water and simple, clean, healthy foods.

First time with a planned free day. I don't wanna do it again! My body is kicking my own *** right now!
  • I'm sure you could if you were training hard to be a sumo wrestler. I'm pretty sure for most of us, however, with a few days back on schedule that blip/gain will vanish.

I also overate this past weekend and stepped on the scale this morning, registering a 3-pound gain. I figure about a half a pound is an actual fat gain, the rest excess water. I expect it to be gone within a couple of days.

    F.
  • I'm there with ya, 2 lbs up this morning from my free for all. Maybe a little is actual fat, but ya mostly water weight. Just get back on track. I made myself weigh this morning because when I don't weigh is when i start getting off track, but this time I also realize that fluctuations happen and that most of the time it's simply water weight.
  • I hear you all. It's all self inflicted and I know this. I knew as I was doing the plate to mouth repititions, I was gonna pay for it.

I'm back on track today, veggies, fruits smoothie (yum) and lots of water.

I'm even gonna do an afternoon workout to help ward off this blech feeling

Thats what I do I ended up gaining 5 pounds in 2-3 days because of bad eating habits, and TOM waterweight gain...The only thing that helps me pass that "I feel so big" feeling is to continue my workouts

I'm sure you'll be back to where you were in a few days to a week Especially because your already back on plan.
  • Oh yeah, and its about 2 days from TOM too. That HAS to be the culprit
  • I gained five pounds in the last seven days - so I can believe it. Not only was it Easter weekend when people pig out, but my parents and my in-laws were here, bringing cakes and hams with them. That lemon cake just sat there every time I walked by, staring at me - mocking me. Until I ate 1/4 of it for payback, take that. I also hurt my lower back over the weekend, so I wasn't able to go to the gym or exercise, which didn't help my weight loss progress any.

It takes a week to lose a pound, but only a weekend to gain three. Not fair.
  • My scale was up two pounds this morning too. I ate too many potatoes with real butter and ham. Only on serving of dessert. Hoping most of the weight is from sodium and salt of the ham and leaves quickly.

    AMEN!
After dropping a pound over the week, I gained it back over the week. Ugh.
