Minor Victory

  • So, ever since I started high school in 2009, I've been 218+. Today, I weighed myself and it said 219. Now, I know what you're thinking. "That's higher than 218." Yes, it is. But I'm happy because that means this week, it's gonna be less. In 4 years, I'm gonna be less than when I started. That, to me, is a victory.
  • Congratulations!
  • Congrats!!!
  • I'm at the weight I was in middle school now, which is about 25-30lbs less than what I was in high school. Feels great, don't it?

It sure does! Maybe I'll meet my midway goal earlier than I thought :33
  • That is excellent! I'm about five pounds away from my all time low weight from freshman year of high school, and it is the best feeling ever. It has literally been a decade since I was this low, and I'm back after three kids and going to go lower.

You'd better believe your losses are a victory. Darn skippy!
  • Awesome! You're doing great and at a young age you have everything going for you. You should be so proud of yourself!!
  • Congratulations OP.
  • Yay for you! Be glad and be proud that you're doing this now! So many of us wasted a lot of time being tired and unhealthy and unhappy with our bodies before we were truly ready to do something about it. You'll have more of your youth to enjoy as someone who is at a "happy weight."

I got to see some of my old medical records and was shocked to realize I haven't been this weight since I was TEN years old (and I was 6 inches shorter then, so really I've never been this thin!).

Good luck to you and keep up the good work!
  • We spend so much time being unkind to ourselves... Acknowledging our victories is a way to be kind. I know, at least for myself, I'm the first to make big news of any failure. Good on you for making something of a victory. Great example for me to follow.

Congratulations to you and best wishes for your continued journey...
  • Congrats! It's good to remind yourself from time to time you have accomplished something and actually celebrate your success. I'm happy for you, keep going and maybe you'll even reach your goal sooner that you expected.
  • That is a great accomplishment. It can be so hard to overcome those set points we have in our minds... Oh I've always weighed X lbs. But dropping below them feels soooo gooood
  • That's great! Congratulations!
