Good Morning

You'll have to enjoy coffee without me this morning. I'm making coffee now...I'm going to have a cup or two then I'm going to bed. I worked straight through on "the project" today.

DH is having an issue with the kitty and I think he's either ready to come home or I will have to go retreive the cat. The soonest everyone "can" come is 48 hours after my last coat of finish. After that conversation tonight I picked up my tools and pulled down the visqueen tent which I'd occupied since 2pm. For better or worse I am finished sanding except for a touch up during daylight. It is not going to be perfect. It crossed my mind I could tear out the whole floor, sell it for mega bucks and install laminate. Not joking it did cross my mind.

Although I'm wide awake now, I was snoozing when you posted earlier, Debbie. Sorry to have missed you, but you sound like you've had about enough of that floor business. You lost me with the visqueen tent. I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you mean you've been living in it since 2pm because of the smell of the finishing?

For some odd reason, I woke up at 4:30 and am wide awake. It is lovely to be the only one up so far, though, and the peace and quiet are delicious. I'm going to savor my coffee and cruise the boards, but I'll be back in time to enjoy a second cup with all of you.

First cup on the go here. Debbie, I had one maple floor restored in this old house, had a man do it while I was away and still could smell the finish weeks later. It's a horrible job and you are either very brave or very foolish to tackle it.

Cottage, I'm drinking Foglifter this morning, part of my wonderful stash that you brought me. I'm sharing your peace and quiet for a bit as the dogs are back zzzing.

Off tot he gym for 7:30 this morning. Donna and I persuaded Doreen to join us and she's signed on for three months. (Cottage, yes, Bob's mother Doreen!) She has many health problems and can do very little but she's keen and puts in her time. Linda my PT has worked out a very gentle program for her and Doreen's seeing results already. So are we as she's stopped whining about health problems.

Disney is off to the doggie spa - the really classy one in Merrickville - and will come home a new pup, I'm sure. Last haircut from the kennel guy was terrible as she was practically hairless and had a sore butt from shaver burn. This one had better be more fun for her.

Sorry I haven't said hello on the daily for a few days, nothing amiss..nice to see so many new Beachers also!

I had a good couple of days off. One thing I did was go through bureau drawers and try on jeans and slacks...and discard some for being too big!! I strutted around yesterday wearing some Lauren cords...size 6 And now I can choose from 6 pairs of jeans to wear, instead of 2 , YAY!

Good morning, Ruth. That Foglifter was pretty good, I'll have to pick up a box when I go shopping for groceries this morning. I'm trying as hard as I can, but I just cannot imagine Doreen at the gym. But good for her! It's a start, and better than sitting on her bum all day at the diner.

The solitude this morning was great while it lasted. Now everyone is up and getting ready for the day. I've had my shower and am on my third cup of coffee, and getting together a grocery list. That will be first on my list today, and I have to get down to Bed, Bath & Beyond for the curtain rod that I want and some other accessories for the bathroom. Other than that, I'm just taking the day as it comes.

Oh, and the good news - my DIL finally got a job! She starts in two weeks and it's not the job of her dreams, but it's full-time and at least something while she keeps on looking.

I'm relaxing with my break of the day....I need to run to the store to get pet food before work, then work til 2, and must leave for the airport 2 hours away by 3 pm. I'll be in FL by 10 pm tonight. Tomorrow is dad's service. I need to change my attitude about it, because it's not very good right now!

Unfortunately, I also miss my son's bday on Sunday, since I don't return til Monday. And then I need to make more of an effort to eat better after this weekend is over!

Army Wife - If I remember correctly you haven't been on SB very long. So... this probably won't help much, but just hang in there and ignore the cupcake and eventually the craving will probably go away. I know some dieters who write down every time they don't eat something off play. To see their success over cravings. You might try that. And some would go with a substitute food, a phase appropriate muffin or dessert for example. But that rarely works for me personally. For me, the longer I go without something the less I want it. Hang in there.

One nice thing about working is that I don't feel guilty doing "nothing" on my days off So today I might just start the Hunger Games sequel and be lazy. I have to get to Whole Foods this morning for some ingredients for dinner so I can get that going in the crock pot. And what I really need/want to do is go into my store and try on clothes so that I can see how different styles fit and learn them better. Might do that this morning since I'm not working out with my mom today and I suspect it will be less busy than on the weekend. I'm a bit embarrassed about it though.

Off to trade my lemon water for green tea... catch you later...

I am so glad it is Friday, I went for Interval run this morning and I must say my quads are so tight I can barely walk and let's not talk about sitting down part. lol It felt good though and that is definitely the part of my legs that need work.

Linda, my visqueen tent was to isolate my final area for sanding, which was from the front door to the dining room entry. I had to block off the dining room, living room and the circular staircase. I had to go outside to get to the kitchen and couldn't go upstairs. All resolved. Now the finish goes on in 3 coats; 5pm, 3am and 2pm tomorrow. It is not varnish anymore, but a quick drying polyurethane. It does smell but not as bad as the old stuff.

Holly, congrats on the new pants size.

Tiffany(ArmyWife), I would second Karens opinion not to eat a muffin now. It's my experience that cravings kick back in much faster in the early days of SBD. Perhaps postpone it for a month and reevaluate. I am a firm believer that depriving ourselves isn't helpful. On the other hand, I was at a coffee shop w/Sis last summer and decided it was OK to have a piece of Gluten Free Apple Pie. It was delicious and seemed harmless. My sis asked for the recipe, which they wouldn't share, but they hinted that the reason it tasted SOOO GOOD was that the crust was pure butter and sugar. I really wished afterwards, that I hadn't eaten it. I try to make my "treats" at home where I know exactly what goes into them.
Ok, I have made a list of what needs to happen in the next 7 hours and am being very mindful of my needing to be totally functional for work tomorrow at 5am. I can do this, I am grateful to be able to do this and I am at my ticker weight because I've eaten OP through all of this.
