Darn you Pepridge Farms chocolate cake..

  • So I indulged a bit over my cal limit today and didn't go to the gym or do any working out, but I didn't go over too much (like I dunno, 250 or so). I ate some cake. Now, I LOVE cake. Who doesn't right? But why must the servings be so tiny and the calories so big? My 1/8 slice the 8"x8" cake was the 250 calories I over ate. Can't I have more bang for my buck..or forkful, rather?
  • Yes you can have more bang for your buck - make a different choice for dessert or make it yourself, a healthier version. Maria Emmerich is a gal I'd encourage you to google - her dessert recipes are aMAZing and both light on calories and nutritional nasties.

I'm a fan of the replacement theory, with some foods. Why have a prepackaged dessert when I can make one from scratch that is bigger, richer, and much tastier, all healthiness aside? That's how I remain 'undeprived'. I make smarter choices most of the time.

As a plus, recipes like hers don't aggravate my cravings like the vegetable oil, white flour nastiness on the store shelves does
