Hi there, I'm thinking maybe a lot of you have tried many things but use calorie counting just because plain and simply it works. It is the one thing that consistently will work for me -- WHEN I work it.
I'm going to start logging on the fitday program on my laptop tomorrow when i wake up.
I hope you all have a successful day tomorrow counting calories!
Calorie counting has worked for me. I've never done any sort of diet or weight management in my life so I was surprised when I started losing weight when I started counting calories and just slimming down portion sizes.
It was kind of stressful in the beginning since I felt like I was constantly tracking and maybe doing something wrong. You just get used to it as long as you keep tracking! I even track my bad meals to keep myself in check.
I spent a lot of time spinning my wheels, trying to eat healthy, cut out processed foods, eat more fruits and vegetables, etc. and still wasn't losing weight. It was only when I started actually counting up all those calories that I realized I was simply eating too much of a good thing. I use the Lose It app on my ipad, and once I plugged in my data into the app and it told me how many calories to eat each day, and if I followed their directions, what date I would reach my goal weight, I was hooked. Since then, I have been motivated to burn a few extra calories than I normally would, and eat a few less calories than I normally would, and the weight is coming off.
Good luck with your calorie counting. I hope you find it as common sense and easy to follow as I do.
CC works best for me too, at first I used to be hungry, but I'm so used to it now, that yesterday which was supposed to be my cheat day, i really didn't end up going too much over my CC set limit lol
