I live in Pennsylvania, and the weather has been absolutely beautiful for the past few weeks! It has me in garden planning mode. Planting a garden is a great way to increase your fruit and/ or veggie intake. I just wrote my weekly blog on it for the weight loss program where I work. It also forces light, outdoor activity, and it's a perfect opportunity to involve the kids. My garden plans are tomatoes (of course), jalapenos, cucumbers, onions, celery, carrots, and maybe a few others. Happy Spring!

I'm in the process of setting my garden up. I'll be using a kiddie pool on my back porch, because we have a horrible tick problem when it gets really hot here, and once I was growing tomatoes around my front porch, and a deer actually came into my yard and ate them! lol. I prepared the pool yesterday, and plan to finish preparations tomorrow or some time this week, and then will start planting. I'm thinking of bell peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, arugula, cilantro, and maybe spinach and some root vegetables. I might even splurge for some more kiddie pools and plant a few sunflowers.

I started my garden here 2 months ago, becasue it is warm really early. I´ve got some large lettuce already, spinach, artickoes, snap peas, and celery. Will out in some tomatoes next week, and maybe a zucchini (though last year something ate EVERY single one of them)

I would love to but I don't know how (this is my first year with a garden). I'm from a different climate, those of you from PA (OP?), NY etc. when do you plant your tomatoes?

I am totally clueless when it comes to gardening, but my Dad is really good at it so I'm sure he'll help me out.

Easter break is next week so I'm looking forward to having the time to get out there and get the garden nice and ready so I can grow all the veggies I want

Unfortunately I am not ready to plant a veggie garden...we are still building the porch, and deck..so haven't landscaped yet!

BUT I did plant some new vine flowers this week, and even extended the drip system without the help of my bf, or anyone LOL! So, still have to replace two more bushes that died over the winter......boo and our tree. First year, the Mexican Fan Palm died because we had -14 killer freeze that winter...Then last year we got the Queen Palm (cheaper)...it died too...not very cold hard.

So, if anyone knows a pretty evergreen tree that will look nice in the front yard...and survive cold drastic weather let me know!

The bf doesn't want leaves to clean up, but wants evergreen! We don't want a cypress in the front, nor a plain ol juniper...or pine tree. So.....not much for options in the hot NM desert!
