what to try after low carb diet

  • I have been on low carb diet for a year and lost 80lbs however my weight has been stalled since October, i've only lost 5 lbs since then, i gain a few, lose one, gain one, its back and fourth. Obviously my body is telling me its not working anymore.
My question is where do i go from here? Im afraid to start eating carbs but i know something has to change as my body is to use to this lifestyle.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  • I think you should be counting calories as well as carbs and incorporate some exercise in.
  • What is your exercise level at? Maybe that's the variable that needs changing rather than the diet?

    A.

I agree with this- but you should try having a day or two where you "carb up", and eat potatoes and fruit, then go back to the low carb. That can sometimes kick-start the weight loss.

    Hi,
I did try that. I am on 17 day diet for last 8 months. Do exercise regularly under trainer. But, now weight loss is extremely slow, but my size is decreasing. After reading about having a cheat meal, i went to Indian resturant and had more carbs. The result is 2 lb gain.i went back to my diet cycle.
  • Update i added a pink grapefruit for breakfast and low and behold the weight loss started again!!!!
  • I certainly don't think low carb is for everyone, so maybe that is your answer.
Or, maybe all your hard work is finally just catching up and it is showing on the scale now. You may never know. I have periods of time where I am not showing loss on the scale, but the inches are changing and then all of the sudden I start losing again.
If you miss the carbs and can lose while eating more of them, then I would say that is a win/win!
Glad the scale is moving again for you.
