VLCD week one report: good news and bad

  • first, the good news: i'm down to 221-1/2, a loss of 8-1/2lbs. actually, i was 221-1/2 on the beige scales and 223 on the black scales. i asked the dr which scales were more accurate and he said "meh - i never did like the black one".

    now the bad news: my blood pressure was great yesterday but today, it was right back up to 149/98. not SO bad as it has been but at least before it would come down after 10min rest - tonight, it didn't. so he wrote me a prescription for medication. boo, hiss.

    monday is the first blood panel - full bells and whistles, including a fasting blood sugar. after that, every six weeks for things like calcium, iron, and whatnot but not cholesterol or blood sugar (unless, of course, they come back not good).
  • very low calorie diet? How low are we talking?
  • She's doing 750 a day.
  • yep.

    plus unlimited salad (veg only, no egg, bacon, cheese, dressing, etc) and beef consommé.

    and lots of green tea. omh, so much green tea......
