I bought myself a goal dress - a bit excited and nervous

  • Since my goal is in just 15 pounds, I can get a rough idea of where I will be in size. Basically something that is snug now should fit perfectly in 15 pounds.

I am a bargain shopper, so even my goal items are sale/discounted items. But, I found this dress and it's so me - for a special occasion. I have no idea what sort of bra I would wear with it - probably strapless, but that's OK.

Here is a link to it. And no. I didn't pay even half that for this dress. It shows multiple views - I love that it is a bit artsy, but classic.

Now, i suppose it's possible I won't ever fit it properly, but in that case I'll just keep the tags on and sell it on ebay, but it looked nice now, just a wee too tight at the bust/upper waist and a tiny snug in the midsection. I found it in a size 10.
  • Its beautiful. I love the color blocking.
  • That dress is stunning. I love having new clothes hanging in the closet for me to wear when I reach goal. It's great motivation

And I haven't had anything like that for awhile. Everything I have fits now or is too big. I kind of needed something to push me just a bit harder. We are entering better weather time, so the weight should come off easier as it gets easier to MOVE too. And since I don't like to waste money, it's extra motivation to take off those last few.

I also want to get to below 25% body fat (at least on my fitness scale at home to say that regularly) and right now I'm at 27-29%. So, now I have two things pushing me!
  • Absolutely stunning! I hope it's perfect and congratulations on nearing goal!
  • I've never purchased goal clothes until just a few days ago, and it's nothing as spectacular as your dress. It was just a shirt that is just a little too snug, a plain white shirt. I liked the idea though that one day I would have abs that would be tight under it instead of the flab that strains against the fabric right now.
  • Gorgeous!
  • Love it! Very classy. Red, black and red&black are my favorite colors.
  • Aww, so happy for you. Pretty dress!
  • Love it. I just bought a very retro Lucille Ball looking dress for goal. Can't wait to slide into it!
  • Oooh! You're more brave than I - I have 15-20 lbs to go and I've been eyeballing some things in a size smaller...just haven't had the guts to buy!

That dress is really lovely! You're gonna look fantastic in it!

I think I only got it because I can see how much/little I have to lose and where. I can zip it up now, so 15 pounds on my large frame won't make much of a difference in clothing size - I don't think! We will see.
  • Waaaa hoooo good for you! I did the same myself. I started at 350lbs, never owned a dress in my life and I'm 23 :-/ until now that is!!I lost 100 lbs in under 6 months and I decided to buy my first "goal" dress. I have yet to wear it because I have about20 more lbs to go to fit it but I can't wait! You deserve that dress and ur gonna rock it!! :-)
  • Wow, it's gorgeous! Congrats on being so close! We have very similar stats. I recently bought a pair of goal pants size 27 waist. I, like you, can tell where I will probably lose the weight. I can almost zip them up!

Im sure the dress will be stunning on you!
  • Beautiful!! I hope you post pictures when you get to goal
