I used to be thin (for one shining brief moment in my life), AND I used to smoke 2 packs a day, eat raw cookie dough as if it were medication and party (Chocolate Cake shots!) every weekend. Then I went ahead and decided to get healthy and give up cigs, cookie dough and partying...then I got fat. No good deed goes unpunished LOL
I've tried MANY diets over the past few years without much success but I think this time something might've clicked in my brain that this IS going to happen this time. I don't know how to explain it but there's a new kind of determination deep within that hasn't been there before. I'm not following any particular diet, cus I won't stick with it. Tell me I can't have cardboard with ketchup and suddenly it's the very thing I crave! LOL So I eat what I like...lots of vegetables, some fruits, lean meats, and my beloved organic white popcorn. I've lost 15 lbs so far, but now I want to crank it up and have added exercise. My goal is to weigh about 150 lbs, which means I have 70 left to let go of. Looking forward to making some new friends along the way!

Congrats on your great start: sometimes the best plan is your own plan, for sure -- sounds like a good one to me. Just take a look around and join in wherever you want and enjoy yourself ...
