12 Week Challenge - Week 9

  • Where is the time going? It's already the 9th week of our challenge.

    How is everyone feeling? We'll continue on with the topics that the meetings are using this week: The 8 Steps to Healthy Weight Loss.

    1. Pay attention to serving sizes
    2. Choose at least 5 servings of fruits & vegetables a day.
    3. Choose at least 2 servings of milk and milk products a day.
    4. Include protein-rich foods in your diet.
    5. Choose a variety of grains daily, especially whole grains.
    6. Limit alcohol, high-sugar, and high-fat foods.
    7. Drink at least 6 glasses of water every day.
    8. Take a vitamin-mineral supplement every day.

    Which of the 8 steps will you focus on this week?

    I'm focusing on serving sizes this week. I know that mine have gotten a little bigger over the past few months so I'm going to watch my portions.

    It's #6 for me - I've still caught up in some pretty bad snacking habits since Christmas and finding it hard to stay away from red light foods.

    My weight reflects it too. That explains why I haven't weighed in since December. I'm about 3 lbs over goal weight, but it might as well be 10. Why, oh why can't I get back on track.

    I leave on vacation in 5 weeks. I can still do this, if I can get myself straightened out somehow.

  • I am concentrating on the fruits and veggies this week. They aren't a big problem area for me, but I am making sure that I have them in for the day before I use any extra pts for treats!

    Wow! I can't believe there are only just over 3 weeks left to the challenge! I still have over 5lbs to go, I better get in gear!
