I just bought an EatSmart from Amazon, too, because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The one I got has a really wide base to stand on. I really like that you don't have to tap it to turn it on -- just step on it -- and I like that the display is backlit so it's very easy to read in dim light.
I had stepped on almost every scale in Bed, Bath & Beyond last weekend and realized that my old scales were running 2 pounds high (confirmed by the one from Amazon), so I'm lowering my start/current weights by 2 pounds.
