Valentines Day/birthday

  • So, my birthday is tomorrow as well as Valentines Day But, here's the issue ... I've been on induction for a couple weeks (1 cheat day but was back in ketosis within 24 hours, no gain) & lost 13.6 lbs. I'm feeling great & proud of myself, but tomorrow brings a challenge. My hubby is so sweet and wants tomorrow to be special for me & is making dinner (steak) ... He's trying so hard to make something diet friendly for me but I feel horrible. Everything, everything, he asks if I can have, I have to say .. no, hunny .. the sugar, carbs, etc. Can I also mention this never, ever happens!! So, part of me just wants to take the day off & say, "babe, whatever you cook will be amazing." and just enjoy whatever it is instead of stressing about it! He's not a cook so I would never ask him to try an induction friendly dessert recipe LOL, I can only imagine . Thoughts??
  • Steak is great, with some veggies or a salad with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side. Mock mashed potatoes is also a nice side for steak ( hand-blended cauliflower, butter and heavy whipping cream). For dessert, you can have sugar free jello with a scoop of homemade whipped cream...maybe with a birthday candle in it?
  • I totally want to cheat tomorrow too. I wanted some heart shaped reese peanut butter chocolate sooo badly.

But then I remember that cheating can put you back a few days, which is proven in my weight from how I ate/drank this weekend.

If he makes something not Atkins friendly, just eat a really small portion if you have to have it. I think then the damage won't be as bad. Or if he makes a meat, veggie, and a starchy side you can just skip the side.
