Anyone just have a baby?

  • I had my baby in SEPTEMBER and didn't lose any weight!! I actually gained 2 pounds. This is so not fair!! Anyone just have a baby and having a hard time?
  • I had a baby on 8th dec. i'm back to pre pregnancy weight, but finding it very difficult to get myself together to lose any more. i'm trying my best and not beating myself up if i dont get for my walk or if i'm not organised enough to make the healthy meals i had planned. but i am really struggling to stay committed and organised.
  • My son is now 20 months so it's been a while but I found it exceptionally hard to lose the baby weight. It was awful! I was a maintainer for 7 years and then gained 40lbs (123->163) and holy ****, getting down to 130 took me a year.

There are so many factors, I blame severe sleep deprivation, my son still wakes up at night Not to mention trying to eat with a colicky baby is HARD!!! And of course, not being able to just get up and work out when you want.
  • I had my daughter on December 30th, I gained 60 lbs during pregnancy and dropped 30 within two weeks. Then I started to gain

I'm doing Atkins now and am finally losing again. I'm also getting back into weight lifting. It's hard because my daughter is so young so it's hard to get time to work out. I usually try to do something while she's doing tummy time (while I'm near her) or I do lunges around the house holding her, haha.
  • I had a baby on January 1st - - - 1983. The baby weight is finally off!

Congratulations to all of you new moms. Hug the babies for me.

  • My second daughter was born in May, so she is 8 months old. I went from 170 to 200 at delivery... and then somehow gained 15 lbs between then and January. Horrible!

It is finally starting to come off now.
  • My daughter was born in July she is almost 7 months old. I ballooned up to 303 when I delivered, but went back down to 279 (my pre preg weight) almost a week later. It took me a long time to get back on track after her birth.
  • My youngest is 14 months. I gained much more with that pregnancy and got 6 pounds under my prepregnancy weight by 6 months postpartum, but it stayed that way for a while. I had a gym membership from March to September and basically lost 4 pounds and several inches. I think it took a while for my body to recover after stopping the breastfeeding. Anyhoo, once I felt more normal I ramped up the workouts and the weight began to fall off, but it took time. Good luck and good sleep with the young one at home!
  • My son is 16 months old and I still have 20lbs to lose. I was 218 at deliver and dropped to 190 at my 6-week check up. I've had to fight hard to get below 190. It sucks. Weight loss seems much harder after pregnancy, for me.

I know it's hard, but cut yourself some slack. Sleep deprivation can make weight loss hard (not sleeping through the night yet here either.) I also think the whole breast feeding=weight loss thing is inaccurate for some women. In my case, I think my body is holding on to everything for dear life.

We'll all get there eventually. It just may take us a bit longer.
