Exchange diet

  • I am playing with the idea of changing up my diet plan. I have only ever done calorie counting and have lost and maintained a 50 pound weight loss with it. But I no longer wish to count them. I was thinking of a diet exchange plan or WW core. For those of you that do an exchange plan how many exchanges do you use in each group?
  • It depends. What do you want your break out to be? I like 40-30-30 across the carb-protein-fat.

    Here's one calc.

Fine tune it to wherever you need it to be. If you don't know your calorie level, get that here first. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

    Then fiddle with the exchanges.

  • I was thinking
    6 starch
6 meat subs (I am vegitarian)
    4 fats
    2 milks
    3 fruits
    3 non starchy vegs

but I am not sure yet.
  • I am diabetic and my dietician has me on the exchange of:

    6-carbs/starches
    4-veggies
    3-fruit
    2-milk
    2-fats
4 oz of meat per day

there are free foods too and unlimited sugar free jello

edited to add: diabetic exchange portions are different than what servings on the actual food package states.
  • I did the exchange diet on my birthday.
I exchanged my diet for the Chinese buffet at Wong's.
But only one day, mind you.
