How much water?

  • How much water is enough when you are dieting? Also, is a bottle or two of carbonated water okay? I find it easier to drink if its bubbly, but I dont want to do it if its gonna hurt my weight loss. TIA!
  • I think that depends. For me, it's 3-4 liters a day, but that's because I also am exercising and losing some fluids through sweat. Selzer water is fine, provided it's unsweetened. A little lemon or lime can jazz it up for no calories.

  • Eight glasses of fluid a day is an average number for most people either as a goal or a starting point. Add more if you exercise a lot, live in a dry climate, or are larger. Any liquid counts, it doesn't have to be pure water. The body knows there is water in tea, juice, fruit, soup, etc
