Need to lose 2st (for starters)

  • New peep!

Accidentally posted in the US introductory section! silly me! haha! Anyways...looking to drop 2st (for starters) and fingers crossed this site will give me some extra support to achieve that!

I've (so far) cycled 2miles today, hoping to do another 3 by bedtime. So my daily goal is to cycle 5miles every day, as I am such a busy stay at home mum I can't really get out much to go for those walks etc, so exercising at home works best for me. It only takes 5mins to cycle 1mile, so inbetween doing the dishes or homeworks works perfectly for me! ^_^

My starting weight (last monday) was 15st 8lb, currently weigh 15st 7lb (not lost much) but its as good a start as any!

  • Hi! Good luck, I am also a busy stay at home mum. So hard to resist all those kids snacks!
I am doing a crazy 2 day milk diet I read about in the telegraph. I have minimal energy left for exercising, though I do plan to start swimmingonce a week as soon as it isn't quite so chilly!!

I only want to lose 3/4 stone but I've been meaning to do it for 3 years and I just always lack willpower. And energy to be bothered to do it! I have 2 boys, tiring enough!

    Good luck!!!

    (1st week done, 1.1lb lost)
  • Hi, welcome and good luck!

Great to hear that you've got your bike at home to help out with fitting exercise in around your busy life!
  • 1 lb off is still 1lb off in the right direction. Well done, and 5 miles a day is admirable.. I am very impressed. Do you enjoy cycling? or do you make yourself do it to get exercise?
Keep going.. you're doing great.. and welcome
  • Mind set is massive, I have started out with so much enthusiasm and then it slowly dies as I get the negative thoughts creeping in.

THE best way to lose weight is to build muscle, souns simple I know, but its what will increase your resting metabolism and keep you burning calories at rest (which is what you want if losing weight is your goal)

Have any of you got any experience in weight training?

I can relate to that maybe you're more suited to adding on small habits one by one rather than burning out, its such a rush to get back on track and then I start feeling apathetic.
