I read about this a while back somewhere. I've been doing it for a while.
Before I eat my meal or snack:
Take a deep breath and say to yourself:
'I am strong and in control.'
'I love myself and eat healthfully.'
'I eat less and feel great.'
Some how that deep breath is very centering. It stops me from just digging right in to my food, thoughtlessly.
I think it's empowering to say these things before I eat.
