Weight loss tryingt to get pregnant

  • My name is Heather!! I am married and over weight. I have almost always been over weight. I was told by my reproductive specialist that i need to lose weight or give up my dream of ever becoming a parent. One would think this would be enough to wanna start losing weight, however, the whole idea is depressing and i want to eat. If I dont try i will always think what if.... Therefore, here i am trying to get my act together and shed some (alot) of weight. I was recommended to lose 15-20% of my weight (25-30lbs). Yet I feel like if im going to lose weight i should set my ideal goal. I want to be 120lbs. Meaning i need to lose 120lbs. Am I being unrealistic? Well i hope to talk with you and please share ideas for beginners with foods and exercise routines.
  • Heather, welcome, glad to have you join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diets, themes, or age groups, find one that inspires you and just post to join! I find it easier to set a small, short term goal to focus on, then once I have reached that goal to set another, so you might want to focus on the original 25-30lbs just to get started.
