Using the Wii to help w/ fitness?

  • Has anyone used any of the Wii games for weight loss???? I just bought "Just Dance" and I'm going to give it a try...I was looking at Wii Fit Plus but its just too expensive.
  • Hi! I have Wii fit plus which I got used on Ebay for a steal. When that became too easy I got biggest loser challenge. Been on that since the first and am down 7 lb! Its fun and challenging!
  • Just Dance is a VERY fun way to get in some cardio I love playing it on one of my off days from the gym.
  • I have Just Dance 3, Zumba 2 and The Biggest Loser Challenge. I found that I LOVE The Biggest Loser and I love Zumba 2 for a workout. Just Dance 3 seemed more of a fun party game then an actual work out to me. With that being said, Zumba 2 is very very fun, and it doesn't feel like you are working out, but I definitely get more benefits from using Zumba 2 compared to Just Dance 3.

I would fully suggest The Biggest Loser Challenge as an awesome game for weight loss with the Wii lol! It automatically sets up a plan for you, tells you your calorie intake that is needed to lose weight, and each workout is different!

Also, have you checked out Game Stop or EB Games for used Games? I've seen Wii Fit Plus there for some good prices (I have not played it tho!)
  • I find it really fun to do the work outs and try to beat my previous scores.. although I do not like when my person shrinks down to a short fat butterball after i weigh in.. lol
  • I've heard of a few people that have had success with weight loss using the Wii. However, I don't find the exercises intense enough. The low intensity of a Wii workout would mean that I would have to workout for a lot longer than I would while jogging just to burn the same amount of calories. That to me is not a productive use of my time.
  • I bought a Wii for Christmas and the Wii Fit Plus/Balance Board came with it free, so we got a pretty sweet deal
Hubby and I both love the Wii Fit Plus. I've only been using it for 11 days straight and have lost almost 5 pounds.
