  • Morning chicks, old and newly hatched.
This will be quick as we had power off and slep late etc. It is -16, cooooold,5:50 am.
We were up at 2:25 with cayotes howling down the road, 4:05 when the power went off, so this will be the day from heck.
Tonight is wi at TOPS so I will see how the LC and WW is doing.
Well chicks, I am going to try to read some more,
    Love TAzcat.
  • Good Morning All!
The sky is so pink here this morning. My grandmother would say that means bad weather is coming. She is right - more snow
Jacob is good and cranky this morning so I know he is on the mend! Now I need to get ready for 6 kids again today.

Sonogranny it is mothers like you that make the world a better place. I can remember calling my mom at 2am and having her drive 3 hours in the middle of the night because I got the flu right after giving birth. Every time my husband brings up moving I think about not having my mom near and promptly say no way! I hope your daughters meds are helping
Dyan my thoughts are with you. No one should have to suffer through so much.
Ruth I am renovating as well. I hate my carpet floors and have been trying to get Hubby to replace them. He is a carpenter so usually the last thing he wants is more work. There is nothing better to beat the winter blahs than a new coat of paint ( and hopefully hardwood floors )!

I can see the kids coming so I will try to get to the rest of you later!
    Tammy
  • Good morning, Taz and Tammy. It is jsut getting light here, Tammy. I guess we are further north than you. I really hope it does not snow because I'm off to Brockville shortly to pick out some flooring.

Harry and I had dinner with my pal Lurker Lorraine and her hubby. A really nice and relaxing evening! They have had a another wonderful holiday in Cuba and told us all about it. I feel like going right now as it is cold in here again. I think the furnace got turned down too much again!

We are going to be in complete chaos for a few days! Too bad you have to move stuff out of rooms to put down a new floor. The woodstove has to be moved too but I am insisting that books are my specialty. It's actually a good chance to ditch some old books. They sure are heavy but I'm getting smarter - packing the boxes on the floor and sliding them into the other rooms!

Anyhow, gotta go. I just thought I'd do a quick check-in. Have a great day!
  • Good Morning everyone!!

Dyan, sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Good thoughts coming your way that things are better soon.

tammy, I'm sure you have heard the old saying, "Red sky at night, sailor's delight, red sky in morning, sailer take warning." Hope you don't get snowed in.........oh, I forget, you ladies in the NORTH never get snowed in.

Hey, anyone have a REALLY dirty joke they can post while Ruth is busy.

for peachie and her GYN appt. And she really is sick, I called her yesterday and as soon as she answered the phone the first words out of my mouth, "you sound horrible." Not hello, just how horrible she sounds.

Not much on my plate for the day, a trip to Super Target (not as good as Super Wal Mart) and a trip to CVS for drugs for my tooth pulling scheduled tomorrow.

Have a great day...........drink your water.

    Debbie
  • Good morning early chicks! Wow, at 5:50 I am barely coherent, let alone typing! Lord knows what might slip!!!

Going to be your typical Wednesday, nothing special, and we have a new guy at work. What a slimeball. Hope he quits soon! But you know what's funny: the guy he is replacing HASN'T been fired yet. They are walking around in the same building all day and neither one of them know why! Duh. My company, I tell you.

Going to eat leftover steak for breakfast, yummy! Then I have to find something equally yummy for lunch, cause yesterday was a bust. Salad with no meat of any kind (I left it at home!!) so maybe I'll do up some chicken breasts tonight. Hmmmmmm. . . . .

Hope you all have a great day. Deb, take it easy after that trip to the dentist. Don't lift anything heavier than the remote! (Or if you're like me, your finger, to point at what you want brought over!!! ) Talk to ya'll later.
  • Morning ladies! School was cancelled for us today because of the snow so we all got to sleep in! DBF was like a little kid in a candy store when he got the call at 5:00 this morning. I think he may have jumped up and down, although I was half asleep so that may have been a figment of my imagination!

So far I'm doing really well with this woe and I can't believe how much better I feel but I still haven't reached that part of the program where your appetite decreases. I wish it would happen soon because right now I'm battling with my self to not eat everything in sight after dinner!

Dyan...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your grandpa. We are dealing with cancer over here too and it can be such an up and down battle. You hang in there.

Sherrie...I'm having leftover steak for breakfast too! Yum!

Deb...Super Target!!! Wow I don't think we have one of those around here! That's my favorite store. You guys must have on heck of a Walmart too if it's better than the Target! Good luck at the dentist. I'm going to the dentist today too but my appointment is just to do m final fitting for my bite splint. I cannot wait to get it because I'm sooo tired of these headaches I get from gritting my teeth so hard at night.

Ruth...Don't bury yourself to far in those boxes, we want to hear from you again!! Hope all is going well with your renovating.

Tammy...Good luck on getting those hard wood floors! Hope all is well!

    Taz...Good luck with WI!!

Well I have to go make breakfast and then help my daughter finish her valentines for her party. We made them this year rather than buying the little cards.

    Have a great day all!

    Samantha
  • Good Morning you frosty chicks!

It's -13 but feels like -30 with the wind chill (all my Canadian sisters know EXACTLY what that feels like!) Snow squalls all day to the south of us, in fact they've cancelled buses (and it takes a lot to do that up here) and are advising people to stay home (like we don't know to do that already ). Thankfully it has all missed us and we have beautiful cold blue skies.

M's in daycare all day, dh is at work and not coming home for lunch so guess what that means? I'm home alone!!!! WHOOOOHOOOO!!!! I am getting my hair done this afternoon becasue it looks like a bush and my only hommage to housework is laundry. Gosh, I never get a day to myself, I wonder what I'll do?

Sherrie, that is too funny--can you imagine walking right by your replacement and not knowing it?

Deb, we don't have Super anything, is it really any different than the regular ones? Oh and we don't have Target either. I guess it would be the equivalent of Zellers?

RUTH! Go for the dark pine--dark dogs, dark pine, good match. The light stuff shows every scratch and dirt. My gran found out the hard way from her dog after putting down light coloured floor in her sitting room.

Hope you all have a great day evryone!
  • Good morning chicks!

Not much to post today. Just another day at work... Ho, Hum!

Pooky - Enjoy that day at home alone! MY DH travels for business occasionally and I love it when I get what I like to call my "Single Girl Time"! Only now on this WOE I can't live on Microwave Pizza's and Corn Chips with Salsa!
    Gina
  • Happy Hump Day !

    Nothin doing here, SOSDD.

Debkay can I go shopping with you ?

The cold is taking it toll here, my arms and legs are so dry they could probably sand down an entire bedroom set.

Off for another jug of coffee and some fruit (I really want a bagel w/cheese and taylor ham ) but I'll be good.

    Love, Leenie
  • The van for the Super Target trip will be leaving in about 5 minutes..........all aboard!!!!

Pooky Super Target and Super Wal-Mart are called super for a couple of reasons. They are MEGA stores and have grocery attached. The reason I'm going to Super Target is, they have the best price on the wine my hubby drinks He subscribes to the thought that red wine is good for him............I have heard it can be, but I'm not drinking that stuff. Do we have a throw-up smiley.
  • Morning all!!

I am sitting here trying to keep warm with my extra-large HOT coffee from McDonalds! Went out this morning to have the blood work done--fasting of course, and it had to be the busiest day at the testing center--ever!! Starving when I left there so stopped at Mickey D's for coffee and a sausage egg mcmuffin--minus the mcmuffin .

It is soo cold and very Windy today! I hpe it warms up soon Brrrr.

Just hope everyone has a great day! I'll check in later.

  • 'Morning chickies.......

FREEZING and WINDY today.... enough to make me want to join you chicks on the magic carpet to aruba (or anywhere WARM where the drinks are served by adorable youngun's named raoul OR sven OR jean-paul.......

Well, went to dd's yesterday to "take care" of her -- only to find she felt a little better, but Sammy had croup and was on his way to the ER (long story, but St Vincent's hosp used to run a local children's health clinic with terrific pediatricians - well, in their infinite wisdom, they closed it! - therefore, it became THEIR emergency) ..... ahhhh.. the joys of having children! Anyhow, I came home last night, ran to the chiro this a.m., must take care of some IRS b***sh*** for a client and then go to work..... waaaaaaaah.... I wanna stay warm under a cozy afghan today!

Warm hugs and thoughts to all today, (this means you too, Dyan!) .......

Lots of snow last night, and my itching has taken on a new level!! Ive bathed in salt, and oatmeal, and slathered cream on all over, and then all over again........Im still itchy! So I called my doc for refills on the creams that do wonders, and come to find out my doc's nurse retired........she's been there for as long as I can remember, Im just glad he didnt decide to retire too!! So I had to go thru a "new" refill procedure. Wasnt too bad lol and the new nurse seems nice. Hopefully the itchyness will be gone by the weekend!
