Protein shakes

  • I've been having trouble eating enough protein lately so I bought some vanilla flavor protein powder. I've only made a few shakes so far but it actually tastes pretty good.

    Yesterday I made a shake with 1 scoop vanilla powder, 1 cup milk, 1 cup frozen berries, .5 cup cooked oatmeal (leftover from breakfast), half of a frozen banana, and a handful of ice cubes.

    Today I made an AWESOME shake with 1 scoop vanilla, 1 cup milk, 2T peanut butter, 1T hot cocoa powder, 1T flax, and a handful of ice cubes. It tasted just like a peanut butter cup!

    Anyone else have experience with this stuff? I figured I'd buy vanilla first since it could be mixed with a lot of flavors but maybe next time I'll get chocolate.
  • I love chocolate. I drink a scoop after every workout.

    Watch out which ones you buy. I was getting a small bottle at the grocery store, but thought it would be better to get a less expensive brand at Walmart. The one I got at Walmart is gross! Which is a total pain in the butt, cuz it has twice as many servings! It's going to take forever to drink it all!!
  • I bought a big bag of EAS vanilla pretty cheap at Sam's Club before I left for Canada. Maybe check there or somewhere like Costco if you have it
  • I haven't had a protein shake, but I just popped in here to say that the one you described (with the peanut butter) has me doing the Homer Simpson drool I'm going to have to try it one day!
