Almost to my 2nd month after having WLS....

  • Help......
    I struggle with Protien....
I started having a nausea attack last week.... Today is the first day I haven't felt like I wanted to "Hurl" all day long...
I can drink any kind of liquid.... But bring eggs or tuna into the mix and BLAH....
Any thoughts on any of this?

I am 42 years old , married and have a daughter who is 16. I went back to work after my surgery in 14 days...
  • hey there, diva - i took your post out of intros so that more people would see it. first of all, which surgery did you have? and second - remember that old joke - "doc, it hurts when i do this.: DOC: 'then don't do that."

if eggs and tuna are causing you problems, then try something else. thinly sliced deli meat for example. cottage cheese. eggs cooked differently. i couldn't eat scrambled eggs for almost two years, but hard boiled eggs worked great.
  • Are you on regular textured foods yet? If so, I've been eating string cheese, turkey pepperoni, beef jerky, protein bars, chicken salad..just to name a few.
  • I just had my surgery last month so I can't offer too much advice other than to say to take it super, super slow. I don't know what your program does as far as introducing new foods and textures but my program takes about 7 weeks post-op to get back to eating regular food and like Jif already said some foods just may not be tolerated at all so leave them alone and try something else. There is another great website that is pretty much WLS orientated at www.obesityhelp.com (not that these guys aren't great!!) and I find the more resources I have the better. For protein was wondering if you are still having protein drinks or shakes every day? If you are having a hard time with protein because of still not being able to eat maybe you need to go back to having your protein shakes.
