Hi I'm Jim

  • The Buff is for where I live, Buffalo NY. Hope to be buff one day. I need to lose about 75 pounds. Never been able to stick to a program for very long. I'm hoping to lose weight by limiting or eliminating Beer, sugar and white starches. I exercise about 3 days a week and would love to double that. I've been lurking for a couple months, but now want to get serious. I'll be posting on the 40 somethings and the Men's forum. Challenge this month is to stay away from beer, and to only spend one day celebrating Thanksgiving. Next month it gets tougher with Christmas and New year's.

    Every other year, it seems like I spend about 3 works leading up to New year's just gorging myself. At the office get togethers where everyone brings in something it's like I have no control. And I also treat myself every December with a trip to the Grocery store where I buy all kinds of Christmas treats. This year I need to avoid those behaviors.
  • I too am starting to plan for the holiday's already and how to handle them. My problem is dessert, I eat WAY TOO much of them. I know I will not eliminate my pumpkin pie completely but I do need to have one small piece and be done. Good for you for planning ahead on how to deal with the Holiday eating ahead of time.
