small vent.... sorry =(

  • Well I went to my sister's house these past 3 days. And seems I gained a pound..... all she had to eat was ramen and chips. I'm not knocking it, I mean you eat what you can but oh man do I feel like crap now that I'm back home.... On top of that, I stopped taking my birth control, Gianvi, because I read of all of the nasty side effects. It's a generic form of Yaz WHICH MY DOC NEGLECTED TO MENTION!!! So, now I'm on my period and bloated as h-e double hockey sticks. I'm hoping this is just a bloat and not a weight gain tho. I love seeing my sister but I know pretty much all she has is junk food at her house which makes me CRINGE (sorry this is so random. I'm letting my frustration pour out) On top of that, I had a mental breakdown over there and my sister wouldn't speak to me til dinner the next day.....
  • Suggestion, take some healthy food with you when you visit your sister.
  • It is hard visiting at times due to the food life style of our loved ones. I have really put on the brakes with this vacation! I passed up donuts for breakfast this morning! Did you know...donuts are about 350 calories or more?

Have a snack pack of good foods in your room. Or better yet, you cook the meals while you are visiting!
  • I usually feel awful after I eat something really unhealthy. For me, the best way to get over it is to just admit that it was a bad decision and move on! We make thousands of decisions a DAY when it comes to eating, so it's time to focus on what's happening now! It sounds like you're just venting, which also feels good from time to time .

By the way, I LOVE your ticker! It reminds me of mine! Happy Hallow's Eve girl!
  • I had horrible experiences with Gianvi. I've taken birth control in the past and everything was fine (Yasmin, and Mercette). If you have a choice, take something different. Horrible side effects!
  • Its hard visiting people that only keep junk food in their house. I'm moving back in with my parents this weekend and I'm dreading all the unhealthy food they keep in their house.

As for your weight gain, its likely just water retention caused by the sodium in the ramen.
  • I second cooking meals. It sounds like you are a little better off financially than your sister. Im sure she would have appreciated your offer to pick up some healthy snacks or cook dinner.
