Newbie - Pcos /Hypothyroidism

  • Hello all,

New to the forum. Looking for as much support / advice as possible.

Diagnosed with underactive thyroid 11 years ago,was told I had pcos at pretty much same time. No treatment offered for pcos, just told to lose weight. Easier said than done.

Just been placed on metformin as I have heavy bleeds every 10-14 months and most of my weight is on my stomach. Finally have a good gyn. Want to get to a healthier weight in order to concieve maybe in 10 or so months.

I am just starting to exercise but have to be careful due to back issues.

So am really hoping to get any tips or advice and to chat with people in a similar position.

    Hx

  • ahhh the PCOS belly, hate it - same goes with me, alot of the weight is in my belly and it disgusts me.

I had the same problem trying to conceive my 2nd child, PCOS is such a *****. But you know what I am determined to BEAT it. If I can you can too.
My brother's wedding is in 4 weeks. This is what got me back on the wagon. I bought a beautiful dress and because I am in the bridal party I am determined to look good in my dress. I am tired of feeling ugly and fat. I want to look at myself in the mirror and feel good, I wan to be able to just throw clothes on and walk out the house w/o having to worry about my bulges showing too much etc.
I'm ready. So ready for a change.
