stationary bike question-effects of workout

  • Hi,

I started out by riding my stationery bike five minutes a day, and have worked up to 20 minutes a day, six days a week.

I was wondering if this form of exercise tones just your legs, or will it helps with my hips and behind also (major problem areas)

I plan to start a Leslie Sansone video when I work up more stamina, but hope I'm not wasting my time on the bike until that point.

    Thanks,
    Sherry
  • Hey Sherry

I have been riding a bike for over 3 years now and I have lost inches from my hips, behind and my legs. I ride outdoors, I had a stationary bike but did not like it. I prefer to ride outdoors. I also dropped down a size which was great, I think that riding a bike is very good exercise.

I am really looking forward to getting back to riding, I can only ride from about March to November, so now in the winter months I do the Walk away tapes. They are great for walking indoors, I find that I get a better walk from the tapes than walking outdoors, it is a nice quick workout.

Well now all as I can do is wait till the weather gets better to get back riding. can't wait. I ride about 25 miles a week. The other day the roads were clear and I was tempted to go out but it was just a little cool and windy..

    Happy riding.
