NSV - No longer a "monster"

  • When I met FH, I was about 196 but reached 200/high 190s during the course of our first year together. Being already 5'9, I was pretty tall for a lady so the added weight made me look like a linebacker. He is 6'0/6'1 and 155ish so he is a stick. Looking at pictures of us together, I would automatically think "oh gosh, it looks like I am going to eat him." But this past weekend we had pictures taken together and I looked almost as small as he did even though I'm still 20 pounds heavier. I think it is what I was wearing and how I carry my weight in general. To me, we looked like an adorable couple. It made me feel REALLY good
  • Congratulations! That is very sweet

btw, what's NSV? I see it often on the board but don't know what it means
  • I asked the exact same thing! It stands for Non-Scale Victory. It is anything that you notice about yourself that doesn't have anything to do with the scale. (new clothing size, compliments, etc.)

btw, i'll post a picture when i figure out how to.
  • Awww, that's great!
  • Yay! My boyfriend is super tiny! He's about my height and weighs about 60 lbs less than me at the moment. Oh well.. it's better than nearly 100! I always hated going out because I didn't want to be judged. I can't wait for the day when I don't feel so huge next to him even though I know that I will never be able to get down to his current weight.
  • Awesome NSV!

I know how you feel. While I'm a foot shorter than my fiancee, I did weigh more than him for a good chunk of our relationship (he was underweight, I was obese). He's since gained a whole lot of muscle weight and I've lost. I'm about 40-50 pounds lighter than him now and I really love it He picks me up a lot more.
  • Yay! I'm so happy for you!
  • Congrats, that's a great NSV!
