When ds gets his learners' permit, will my insurance go up? I can't afford this.

Today I intend to go interview a student who transferred from Asia. Is he an exchange student? Does his mom and pop work in a local restaurant? Inquiring minds want to know.

I took Herbie's credit card out yesteray and exercised it. Do you think he'll mind? When will he decide the time is right to yank it back?

I want answers to these and other questions when I return.

Yup! Pay for the drivers ed course in advance with the AmEx Platinum and see what happens. Kids here can't get their licenses until they're 18 and it costs about $2000 to do it. Still a suprising number of idiots on the road.

Small appliances I have had to replace in the past week in case anyone cares: toaster, sandwich maker, iron. What will blow next? I can break anything by just looking at it.

I bought a big crock pot and some nice digital scales that measure fat and some socks and dinner items while I was at it.

He told me to get the crock pot. He has one that has never been used except when I've used it. I asked if I could have it and he said, No, he couldn't give it away because his dds gave it to him. Is that stupid or what? I should sic Fly on him.

And I gave him nice scales one time. When I moved out, he offered me the choice of his old inaccurate, hard-to-see, worn out scales. I won't be discussing this purchase with him. I just thought I deserved nice scales, too.

It is nice to have Cherry come by. We should talk about her more often. (just kidding, Cherry) Where are the slackers? I need a list to mock and reports from the working wives.

I did tell Herbie in an email about how stressful that car day was for me and I mentioned his grandson whispering my arrival and how that was uncomfortable. I didn't get a reply and worried that I had p****d him off so I called him in a couple of days. He said, "I got your email. You really need some SJW."

Not ... "I should've been on time." Not .. "I should have left word for you." All my fault. Naturally.

Peaches, your insurance will only go up after he gets his license. Apparently insurance companies think that they can't do any damage as long as you're sitting next to them.

I spent the morning a a laundromat, because the floor guy hasn't got my laundry room floor done yet. I don't know how regular laundromat ppl do it. It is the most depressing place on the face of the earth. Not to mention expensive! It cost me over $3.00 a load of laundry. I'd be broke if I had to do that all the time.

Sugar, I hope you don't graduate to major appliances. The small ones cost enough. I gave my Geo. Forman grill to DS when he moved out. I will have to replace it. I miss it already. He has a nice apartment w/ all new stuff in it. I wonder if he will actually keep it clean. I may be annoyed if he does, because he never cleaned up after himself at home.

Congrats on the new appliances, Sug. I guess. I have an awful lot of broken stuff in this place too. Some things miraculously fix themselves. I think I have some sort of bizarre electrical field around me that breaks things all by itself.

DH had a meeting until 7:00 this evening, so DD and I ate dinner long before that and I washed up all the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen (we're having company tomorrow), so he had to make his own dinner. Then he washed all his dishes ! There may be something to that Flyloony after all.

and PMS. And this morning before those things attacked me, I invited some friends over for dinner. Not because I wanted to make dinner for people, and certainly not because I wanted to clean the house to the point of even minimal decency. But because I ran out of the excuse that I was taking DD to her guitar lesson this afternoon and wouldn't be available to entertain. They cancelled it on account of bad weather. Our friends are in town for a funeral, so I'm sure this will be a cheery meal anyway.

So here's what I have to do in the next hour:

Clean the bathroom DID ½-ARSED JOB
Vacuum the LR DONE
Get the giant pile of clothes (mostly DH's) off the only "other" chair in the LR FOUND IT ½ DONE BY DH & FINISHED IT
Shift the wash MADE DH HANG HIS OWN SHIRTS
Get DD to empty the dishwasher DONE
Get DD to take out the returnable bottles (need room for more...)DONE
Send DH to the store DONE
Start the chili AND ATE IT TOO
Apologize for the dump DONE WAY TOO OFTEN AND DIDN'T DO IT ONCE TONIGHT! [

I spent the am painting the laundry room. I've got to get this done so I can put my washer and dryer back and resume my usual laundry schedule. You know who would be proud of me. It's sooooo sanitary now.

Peaches, of course DS doesn't like your opinion. For one thing, you're going to have to earn your credibility back. Remember, you once thought Herbie was ok. At least you got some good trips out of him. Paris and the Greek trip for DS. Why don't you tell Herbie that the SJW didn't work and you had to buy a vacation w/ his credit card to get you over the depression. I like that idea.
