starting Phase 3 on Monday...gulp! What's it like????

  • yikes, I am phasing off to 3 then 4 so I can train for my marathon....I need more calories. As much as I have loved carbs...I am now scared of reintroducing them.....I have heard stories about people regaining weight....what has yoyr experience been? Good or bad.....Give it to me straight...please!

I am also looking for a cheaper good tasting RTD or powder chocolate like the IP one! Any advice?
  • The EAS brand of RTD shakes are good and are much less expensive and you can get them at Walmart. I use them with my IP products just to help streach my buck a little bit. I see on this forum a lot of people using them.

Good luck on your training and work with your coach on how to phase back in a few extra carbs. You know your body better than anyone so watch it and listen to it.
  • I just finished phase 3 but didn't re-introduce grains and don't plan to, I did carbs from coconut flour & fruit and actually lost another lb. I am following the wellness mama plan & my coaches said it was fine to do that. She has amazing recipes at www.wellnessmama.com if you want to check them out. I made the muffins, pancakes, & biscuits and all were DELICIOUS! Now to phase 4 as we leave for vacation for 12 days for a family wedding! I can do this!!
  • Good luck to you, looking fwd to reading about your success... (sorry it posted before I was done
  • I've been on phase 3 and been having grains everyday for breakfast. I have not craved bad things through the day and I have not gained any more weight either. I actually have lost some weight but that might be because I work out every day. I was scared too but I just followed the guidelines and figured I could always adjust if I gained .
  • I cant wait to get to phase 3... I can taste Peanut Butter as I type!! Yumm!
  • Good luck! i'm looking forward to anything beyond phase 1! peanut butter does sound good... anything different from my usual vegetables sounds good.

Hi ColleenS. I really like the wellnessmama.com website! Can you tell me exactly which eating plan you are following? I haven't read the entire website yet. Thank you.

I heard that! I can't wait to get to phase III!!!
  • I've been on Phase III for 5 days. It was scary at first, because the morning after my first day, I was up 3 lbs. After the initial disappointment, I settled down and decided not to get on the scale until today ( minus the 3 lbs - yay!) I found I do better to watch the carbs and keep them on the lighter side -- but, I'm not training for a marathon, either! My breakfast usually consists of one whole grain waffle with 1 T peanut butter and WF syrup, 1 c. Greek yogurt with 1 cup lower carb fruit and 1/4 c. Bob's Red Mill muesli. You will do fine... good luck!
