So, Friday was Mexican independence day and in my town in Arizona, which is a border town, there were fiestas in the park all weekend. Of course, my family and I went to see what it was all about-it was more of a fair type thing. I allowed myself about 500 calories on the end of my day's calories for ONE fiesta treat. I got the healthiest thing I could think of, which is a caramel apple. I gave a few bites to my Dad who didn't want a whole one. I stopped there! I was proud that I could work in moderation when something I love is there. I went in wondering if I could resist funnel cakes, but that was the furthest thing from my mind the whole time (we all know funnel cakes are probably way more than 500 cals anyway though...).Anyway, yay!
:-)!!! that is a victory! Congratulations!
Proving to yourself that you can resist unhealthy things while still enjoying yourself is the best feeling and I think really important to changing your way of thinking! I went to a Pig Roast yesterday and had to do the same thing. There were TONS of people there with TONS of food and I was able to avoid all the dessert, wine, potato salad, mac & cheese and fried food, etc! Congrats to you though! We have to keep resisting and building stronger will power!
