Jillian Michael's 30 day shred

  • Has anyone used this program and seen awesome results? I'm starting tomorrow and just wondering what to expect. Thanks!
  • I used it last year and toned up. However, because I was still eating a lot I did not lose weight. BUT now I'm trying her dvd's again while eating less than I used to. Now I am losing weight. So, you will see results, it is hard but don't compensate by eating more.
  • I started her program last week...it seems to get a little easier as you go. But I definitely hate the first circuit of 3-2-1 though! I've been dieting, doing the shred and also walking/ riding bike and I've lost almost 10 lbs. Good luck on your journey!
  • I am starting the shred today...nervousssssssssssssssssss. lol
  • Im starting it tomorrowwwwwwww~!
  • All i can say is when you wake up the next day and your arms and legs feel as if they are falling off- PUSH THROUGH. Doing it the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day will make your muscles feel better the rest of the day for the days to come. The pain does drop off around the 5th day. You will see results. Don't eat too much when you do it, but don't hold back from your body, you will want a little more, choose something healthy. You will see results! Also, after the first few days on a certain level, use music- believe it or not you will want to strangle her. I only did level 1 for a month but it worked well for me. Gonna do it again soon. Have fun, stick with it!

Also, protein, protein, protein- your muscles will thank you, tons of water, and the first couple of days aleve was my best friend.
  • Are you given any "rest" days or should you do it 7 days a week?
  • I think she says to aim to do the video at least 5x per week but to always take at least 1 rest day. That's pretty much what I do, aiming for 1 rest day but taking a second if I wake up with a headache in the morning etc.
  • Oh and I would also suggest adding in some low impact exercise (I love walking) in addition to 30DS, as the video is short but relatively high intensity, and you'll want to keep your body moving throughout the day while also going easy on your recovering joints.
