Food Idea's

  • i need food ideas for being on the go.

    I am out of the house for 14 hours a day either on a train or sitting in my office or a clients office. i have been taking food with me like little salads but that is only on days when i know i am going to be at my desk come lunch time, if i am out if have either not eaten or just had a bigger meal when i got home this i not good and wont help me lose any weight. today i had a meiso soup for lunch it was disgusting, not to mention expensive so i wont be doing that again.

    Any ideas chicks on what i can do on the go or suggestions of places in london or chains that do something nice and diet friendly? must not be carbs though

    PLEASE HELP... i am desperate

    Thanks

  • Here are some ideas I can think of:

    * Sugar Free Yoghurt
    * Sugar Free Jelly
    * Fruit Salad (with cheese, nuts or seeds if you like)
    * Nuts
    * Dried fruit
    * John West do pouches of sandwich filling fish which you could have inside a large salad leaf instead of bread (or as a part of a salad).
    * Soup (if you have access to reheat), I lived off of red pepper and tomato soup for a while, it is very easy to make.

    There are always protein bars such as the Atkins range, I've never gone no carbs so don't know what they taste like.

    If you don't mind going low carb rather than no carb for a day or two a week there is an extensive range of low carb pitta, tortilla wraps, pasta etc which might help keep your lunches more varied.
  • I always, always take a packed lunch with me if I'm not going to be at home. Usually consists of a ham sandwich and a cereal bar, and I usually pick up a coffee somewhere.
    Obviously it won't work for everyone, but I always find and make time for lunch, I'd go mad if I didn't
